Breeds of dogs: Chihuahua with long hair

Origin, classification and history

Origin: Mexico.

Many assumptions have been made about the origin of the chihuahua that those who say it comes from China are those who say it has Mediterranean origins. These dogs were already present at the time of the Aztecs and it seems that they were on the verge of extinction during the invasion of the Inca empire. Towards the end of the nineteenth century the chihuahua spread to the United States reaching a level of popularity which led it to be among the twelve most bred breeds. It is also successfully bred in Europe, the best known being the short-haired variety compared to the long-haired one. One of the best known breeds in the world.

General aspect

It is the smallest dog in the world. Morphologically classified as dwarf aberrant Lupoid type, brachycephalic dolichomorph.
There are many aspects that differentiate this breed from all other dog breeds.
The most obvious aspect is obviously that of the size.
In this breed there are subjects of only 900 grams and others of even 3.5 kg.
It has a compact, cylindrical or slightly horizontally shaped body. Perfect companion dog.

It easily adapts to all new circumstances and all family members, even if it prefers one person.
He is a very lively intelligent dog with a great memory. The chihuahua has excellent hearing which makes him an excellent guardian.
He is perfectly capable of being alone at home without problems, as long as he is used to it, but he will be at the height of happiness if he can accompany his master from all sides.
We recognize that the chihuahua can be aggressive towards other dogs, but appreciates the company of other chihuahuas.
